We’re having our very first snow of the season today in St. Louis!
While I’m busy scrambling to find a winter coat and taking pictures of the weird white stuff outside my front window, our friends in Peru are no doubt making plans for their first trip to the beach.
Life here and life there can seem so drastically different– even exactly the opposite- sometimes. But even while our seasons are opposite, this morning we gathered around the very same Word of God and heard the same forgiveness spoken to us through the mouth of our pastors. We gathered around the same body and blood of our Lord Jesus, and we confessed together (albeit in different languages) the same faith in our Triune God.
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:8)
