WIth sad yet grateful hearts, my wife and her family said "see you later" to her grandfather this year.

With sad yet grateful hearts to God, my wife and her family said “see you later” to her grandfather this year.

It’s hard to believe it’s been seven whole months since we left Peru to return to the United States! It was really difficult to leave behind those we had grown to love and care so much about. As we said our goodbyes, many Peruvians would ease the pain by saying,

“This isn’t a goodbye, it’s an I’ll see you later.”

On this All Soul’s Day, the Christian Church throughout the world remembers all those to whom we’ve said “see you later” this past year because the Lord in His good timing saw fit to bring them home. We praise God for His faithfulness in keeping these saints in the one, true faith unto life everlasting! Thanks be to God, we fellow saints need not say “goodbye” to one another. We only say, “see you later!”

For all the saints who from their labors rest. Who thee by faith before the world confessed. Thy name, o Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia. Alleluia. (LSB,677)
